Topic: Onion Bhaji Nibbles

I saw a recipe online where Instead of making whole Bhaji's the mix was fried as bite sized nibbles (finger food) which means you don't have to double fry, has anyone done this?

They are called pakodas, which there are loads of different varieties, i make them quite a lot and add them to curries that are sauce only like Madras, Pathia etc.
I also make them to take down to my local pub with 4-5 different dips.

I had onion pakodas at the t/a attached to Udaya supermarket a few weeks back. Very nice indeed but they weren't exactly small. I think this is another example of somewhat variable nomenclature in Indian foods. Bhajis, pakora and pakodas all seem to either be just variations on a theme or even simply different names for the same actual food.

Onion Bhaji may have multiple meanings and names in different languages.
In the BIR context, you must use Gram Flour aka Besan, made from Chickpeas.
BIR Bhaji is a dry mix, Pakora is a wet batter mix. All great Indian snack food, yum

No CT, i stopped posting on the other site when there was a 5 or 6 page topic about the length of a grain of rice, i do post on here sometimes when i feel the need but of late the recent topics on here have not interested me one bit.
