Pressure Cooker Base
« on: April 07, 2018, 10:48 AM »
I have just bought a relatively cheap electric pressure cooker from fleabay, my first ever pressure cooker! :D

My main purpose was for base gravies, but I am discovering so much more that can be done in a pressure cooker after Gav kindly sent me some cookery books.

Anyway last night it served its purpose which I bought it for as I made Chewy's version and I have to say it was very good indeed, so easy and quick, I can't believe I have never used/owned one before !!
Well worth the

I have a PC but only use it for making Chewy's base, maybe I should look into some cookery book for it.

I also use it for christmas puddings, really cuts the time if you're cooking a few.

May be worth trying KD1/PC, Andy (dates back to 2011).

I got an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker for xmas. Great for base etc, Load it up, press the button and you don't have to watch it as it goes to keep warm once cooked.

I use my PC all the time. 8 functions including saute, curry, pot roast, 8 hr slow cook and rice cooker. It is brilliant for base gravy and it does do great pudding as London says. Lamb and beef comes out fall apart tender in no time compared to conventional cooking.

I use JB's base and can can make the base in 45 minutes using the Tower pressure cooker.

Pressure Cooker https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01B65ESCS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I then leave until next day with lid locked and use when needed.
