Are naan breads worth making ?
« on: February 08, 2016, 10:38 PM »
I have made chicken madras, well worth making ( cheaper, better tasting, I know what is in it, plus, interesting to do ). I have also just made CA's pilau rice, again, worth making for all the above reasons. I have been purchasing naan breads, usually Tesco 6 mini garlic and coriander for ?1.00. Is it really worth all the effort of making my own ? If so, which method? tawa etc. etc? Or can I make them in the oven ?

Definitely worth making your own on a tava. Its good fun, they're a million times nicer than shop bought and cheap to do so its not a big loss if they don't work right first time. Chuck in the feel good factor and its a no brainer. Happy Naaning   :)

One thing I would have liked to have tried properly but I have electric hobs.  :'(

I made some in the oven once, but wasn't very happy with them, so never tried again!

Even if you feel do feel naans are too much effort then start with chapattis
both are worth making
But chapattis are less time consuming
