I was in my local Lidl supermarket a few weeks ago when I spotted some boxed, microwavable Indian meals for sale. I'd never before came across the 'Kohinoor India on a Platter' range, so, at 99p each, I bought one of each: Aloo Saag, Chana Masala and Dal Tadka.

I went for the Aloo Saag for lunch today. I didn't have a high expectations of the meal, but I thought having bought them, I'd better try one! Inside the box is a microwavable pouch. A little tear in the perforated tab and 2 minutes in the microwave produced a decent-looking, aromatic snack for one. Add a small naan and lunch is served!

Hot it was not, but tasty it most definitely was. I was a bit dubious about the amount of gravy, but actually there was a decent amount of potato in there and the sauce was just right for mopping up with the naan.
I've still got the other 2 meals to try, but based on the Aloo Saag, I would buy these again to keep in the cupboard for a quick and tasty lunch.
