And you starting another poll       well join the gang  :)

Yes, and I voted for the third option, which is the "don't care as I would never use it" option.

I have allowed voters to select up to 3 options from the presented 3 choices, cast 10 votes each and the poll runs for 1 day with results to be published only at the conclusion.

Are you starting to see the point of this poll yet?  ;D  In truth though I don't actually believe normal members should have the capability of initiating a poll.

Staying on the subject of polls we could ask this question.  Why should we pay any more attention to this one or Gav Iscon's deleted poll, than we did to the other ones that have been run of late?

Take for example the poll that George initiated about the use of bad language. The result indicated that the majority of members who bothered to vote did not approve of it's use.  Did that stop it from occurring? No.

There was another one, I can't recall at the moment, where the poll question and voting options were so badly presented as to make the results able to be interpreted in any number of ways, which meant that it was absolutely pointless in any event.

Will the deleted poll force George's decision one way or the other? I can't say.

Will my poll here, affect the layout of the forum and members' ability to create pointless polls? Probably not.

It's a bit irrelevant isn't it Livo? After all, whether as a poll or not, I could equally start a thread outlining a question in the first post and asking others to post follow up responses saying whether they agree or disagree. That the forum software allows this to be somewhat automated so the results are displayed at the top of the thread doesn't really change anything, so I'm struggling to see why you have such an objection to members having access to the poll feature.

Exactly because of the reason you point out so clearly. They are irrelevant.  Well done on stating the bleeding obvious.  This is the purpose of the thread.  Well done for catching on so quickly.

Don't care as I would never do it anyway.

The poll is poorly phrased (the questions not have contained implicit value-judgements such as "Obviously", and should have been expressed neutrally as "No", "Yes", "Unsure" and "Not relevant to me as I would never use the feature") but I answered "Yes", not because of the current situation but because such polls have proved useful on this forum in the past.

I'm glad you detected that Phil, otherwise my efforts to deliberately make the instrument as faulty as possible would have been wasted.  You are nearly as easy as Sverige to hook in.

If your sole aim in posting is to "hook people in", as you put it, then I would respectfully suggest that you take your activities elsewhere; this is a forum for serious discussion, in which I mistakenly believed you to be participating, not one on which trolling is encouraged.  Please note that I have used the "Report to moderator" feature as, in my opinion, your closing sentence constitutes a personal attack on two forum members.
