M&S Black Dahl
« on: March 21, 2015, 11:17 PM »
Although sold as a side dish, I bought 2 and put them together in a frying a pan. It is VERY thick so I added some water and some finely chopped peppers. Add some chilli powder. WOW just WOW!

Although you wouldn't normally find Black Dahl in a BIR, this does have a BIR taste.

I haven't tried M&S Black Dhal yet but I most certainly will, and I'm very grateful to you for pointing it out. IMHO, their best Indian dishes are a lot tastier than the average dross served up by BIRs these days. Don't be too disappointed, though, if only a few other members, if any, share my enthusiasm, and yours by the sound of it, for some supermarket curries.

At the moment IMHO M&S are doing very well in the 4 min ping race, very well indeed :-)
Its sure it's not going to be BIR but for a one/two person quick meal (or side)
i am sure its ok, to be honest i hope its up to M&S standards and quite nice  8)

Regards Graeme.

...the 4 min ping race...

Never came across "the 4 min ping race" phrase before, Graeme! It evokes thoughts of all sorts of competitive cookery events - very good! :)

Nothing wrong with M&S food either, if you don't feel like cooking that day. I've been known to indulge in their 'Dine in for Two' deals myself on occasion.

Tommy99 i will pick up a couple to try, will post back here and let you know.

We buy the odd ready meal for the family when they come home
from work very late etc so black dahl is now on my radar :-)

Ha Ha Naga, what i meant was that corner of the market,
You know, the 4 min microwave ready meal market.
Do you think i should get in early on the idea and buy a big tent  :)
to be honest i could see it work for comic relief :-)

You watch Naga, someone will now come up with a 4 min
microwave base sauce  :D

Now that's an idea! If someone could produce a decent, microwaved base gravy they would achieve legendary status on here! :)

I've sort off got some in my freezer in tubs that was made in a pressure cooker. ;D ;D
