Hello Everyone!!!
« on: November 22, 2006, 01:08 PM »
Howdy from the land of Oz!

I was looking for a good curry recipe, I used to know how to put the different masalas together many years ago, but have since forgotten  :( since I use Pataks all the time! to my shame................ :'( Anyway, I have seen some lovely tasty recipes here, my mouth is watering and I cannot wait to get started! What a great site!

Cheers!

Hi LIG
Welcome to the best Curry site known to man !
Whats wrong with Pataks  :o
Never feel ashamed using them they are a very fine company (probably the best) making some superb pastes ie Kashmiri or Tandoori just to name a few we would find it very awkward to replicate a lot of BIR flavours I for one couldn't do without them.
Anyway have fun and happy cooking.
Layne  ;)

I used to take my family to buy my 'stuff' from their original shop in Bolton or was it Blackburn  ???  (1980s pre-Patak); anyway lovely family they were/are.  The only paste I like of theirs now is the Kashmiri (to die for) and the Tikka (good in an emergency) forget the rest though.  Just IMHO.
