mickdabass...
"Did you ever get an apology Graeme?"

No.

I am sorry for the short reply, not much else I can say about this.
I will let others decide in private for themselves.

I think he has met with some of our empty vessel members
JerryM is IMO one of the least offensive members of this forum.  He works and posts tirelessly and shares for the benefit of all who care to read.  I am sure his post was not intentionally meant to insult anybody.  He has simply stated his perspective of a small number of individuals who only add hot air rather than a genuine contribution to this forum.
I hardly think this is offensive compared to some of the stuff that has been posted on this forum in the past which has remained unmoderated and without comment.
Unless, of course, you recognise yourself as an "empty vessel", I really do fail to see the problem with his post  ::)  And furthermore, it was on topic unlike many others, including my own :-X

Now, you are as guilty as Jerry for clearly breaking the rules. You have insulted an unspecified group of members who, in your pompous and snobbish way "only add hot air rather than a genuine contribution to this forum."

I wouldn't normally have given my honest opinion on recipes which you posted but now I will. You no doubt think you make a great contribution by posting quite a few recipes accompanied by good photos. These recipes may be like your favourite BIRs but your idea of what makes tasty Indian food must be quite different to mine. In other words, we probably all have different tastes. People contribute in different ways. I think it's outrageous for Jerry or you, or anyone, to insult a large group of members, as you have.

George, George ...  I defended you earlier today, because I genuinely believe that (a) you are constantly subjected to unwanted/unwonted sniping, and (b) you do your very best to moderate this forum and keep it free from offensive language and personal insults.  But you and I both know (and we would almost certainly agree on their identities) that there /are/ "[a small number of members who] only add hot air rather than a genuine contribution to this forum".  So why attach CH for stating this ?  It is a fact, and you do yourself (and the forum) no favours by pretending that it is not (and attacking CH in the process).  JerryM, Curryhell and Mickdabass are the good guys -- attack (if you must) the bad guys, but please don't seek to tarnish the reputation of some of our more constructive contributors when there are a small number of /very/ empty vessels who every day set out to destroy this forum by making the most noise ...

** Phil.

I fully agree, Dave.

JerryM is one of a mere handful of members who keep this forum ticking over with recipes, tips'n'tricks, techniques, informed comment and genuine enquiries.

Everyone knows who makes valuable contributions to this forum and, equally, most know who does not.
