The Takeaway Secret burger sauce is a perfectly acceptable replica in my book. My daughter thinks it's amazing! Could I bottle it and sell it for 12 grand do you reckon?  :)

I like a Big Mac also George.
Apart from Ketchup condiments, the ingredients MCD's  use are unique to the product, so its difficult to recreate.
The bun itself has a flavour of its own, which you cant buy anywhere.
Chopped fresh onion will kill it stone dead also. Needs to be dried & rehydrated onion, also of a certain type. Same applies to the gherkins/pickles.
These are by far the best I've found

The burger is probably the easiest bit

This recipe has been around for ages & is pretty good

Big Mac Special Sauce:

2 tablespoons  KRAFT Miracle Whip
2 tablespoons cup mayonnaise
2 heaped tablespoons,  French salad dressing
2 teaspoons,  dill pickle relish (Heinz dill relish works)
1/2 tablespoon HEINZ sweet relish
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon ketchup
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried, minced onion

I made that sauce recipe once and, like you, was very impressed. I'd really need to have a genuine Big Mac alongside, to see if there's any significant difference.

I must try again, taking ELW's very useful tips into account.

I also like the Burger King and Wendy equivalents. Has Wendy Burgers left the UK? I haven't seen a branch for decades.

I have to say I hate McDonalds burgers and vowed after the last one (early hours - 29/12/14 -Kensington) I won't eat them ever again.

(And the joke i can't resist)

I once had a massive arguement with the manager in one . What a moderated clown.....

Stopping at the Copthorne (didn't rate it for my ticky boxes). Not had anything all day and this was the only place i could find. With some of the work I do I've been stuck eating at Mc'Donalds and  where as i can do the coffees etc, i hate the food with a passion.  >:(

NB And I love a good home cooked bbq burger in a nice bun with some nice trimmings and some nice cheese. (camembert will do nicely for starters)

ELW I'd like to try that sauce although Kraft Miracle Whip sounds like one of those hard to get American imports.  ???

Gav Please PM me the damage for the shatkora pickle.   :)
