Chinthe : the end of an era
« on: August 06, 2014, 06:52 PM »
Realising that I was getting towards the bottom of my last jar of Chinthe Burmese Coringee Hot Lime Pickle, I interrupted my dinner to go to the computer to order some more.  And then the world stopped :

Sorry, Chinthe has ceased production. We would like to thank all our customers for their Support.

Forty years of production, and now they have folded.  I wonder why ...

So now I have to start all over again, trying to find another pickle that I can grow to like as much (this is going to be hard).  What are your favourite Indian pickles, boys and girls ?

Maybe you should make your own Phil and avoid this situation ever happening again

I'd not heard of this pickle, but I know what it's like to lose a favourite condiment
Rajah chilli sauce was fantastic as were many that ceased production

You'll just have to go on a replacement quest!
It could be enjoyable
