Best shawarma ( go for the lamb ) in Rusholme is done at Jaffa.
Atlas - bread is too thick
Tried one other place same side as Atlas - not as good as Jaffa

Atlas shawama - kept 2.50 back and was it worth it.
Had the lamb and Tahine sauce.
Just loved the naan. Its the whole lot combo.
C/w my own make using Ghoulis recipe got to add more black lime and less parsley in the tahine sauce.
A big find for me was the option to have humus which works perfectly - adopted for home.
Can't really believe it but I declined the chilli sauce - it really would not go.
Many thanks Edwin and Ghoulie for the push on this now open door.
Simple thrilled

I had the chilli sauce in my Atlas shawarma - agree would be better without it - they went ott with amount they spalsh in there. Give Jaffa a try next time Jerry - world apart - dearer - but better overall & ore like the 'authentic' ones I had in my Dubai days.
Was darn sarf last week & tried my favourite Lebanese shawarma at the right hand side of Hammersmith Apollo Theatre. Was nowhere near as good as previous times - they used garlic mayo - no tahini - bummer! P1sses me off when they cheapen the ingredients to maximise profit = lost customer in my case & I have bought them in 9x lots from there for extended family - even the grandkids were eating them.
Other daughter lives Woking way - they have a good Lebanese restaurant by the train station that does really good shawarmas. Hammersmith will take a miss from me from now on.

Mughli in Rusholme is a very good eaterie if anyone is in Rusholme area. Very busy - so book if you are going especially at night. They have a posh version in Knutsford too.

Hi Jerry
Glad you liked the recommendation, I agree the humus, yoghurt tahine etc all together make a great treat. I like you declined the chilli, the naan was great since it was quite thick it soaked up all the yummy juice and sauce!!!
That's also why I now prefer the slightly thicker pita's for the same reason when making souvlakia, gyros etc
Cheers

Ghoulie/Ed
yes going to try Jaffa next.
Have walked past the atlas so many times in the past and would not have been tempted without your push.
So much so that along the mile been weighing up Lebanese, afghan, beruit all of which looked very promising.

Well, after a whirlwind tour of the north west, and a bit spare time before we start again, a visit to the Jaffa was in order. Chicken shawarma with a naan
