Your chance for photographic and culinary fame
« on: February 17, 2014, 05:55 PM »
Following a complaint by a French chef that customers were spending more time photographing their meals and sharing the photographs using social media than they are eating and enjoying them,  Radio 4's "PM" programme today ran a feature on exactly that topic and has invited listeners to submit photographs of their meal for tonight.  This is /your/ opportunity, chaps, to gain fame for yourselves, your cuisine and CR0.  Go for it !  Send an e-mail with photograph as attachment to "pm@bbc.co.uk"

I read a recent article about French restaurants - something like 30% are re-heating food they have bought in, in the microwave.

sacre bleu!

I have to agree with said French chef. It's not just with food, it's with everything. People go to see bands and spend more time trying to get good pics/videos on their phones than enjoying the music. People go to disasters and take pics/videos instead of trying to help. People film their children hurting themselves in the hope they can send it to 'You've Been Framed'.

And yes, people take pics of their food, in restaurants, instead of enjoying it. It seems no-one can actually enjoy anything these days, unless they have an opportunity to post it on You Tube.

Rant over :)

You're quite right, Garp :  using my webcam and some screen-capture software, I have just recorded myself in full HD reading your message and responding to it, and am about to post the resulting video on YouSeriouslyNeedToGetALifeTube :)
