Kemical : If there were "one best base sauce" and "one best curry recipe", there would be no need for fora such as this. Each member will have his/her own idea of which base sauce(s) and which curry recipe(s) work best for them, and no two members will be in 100% agreement. So your best bet is to start at two links :
read the discussions (and possible amendments) that following the initial message in each thread, and then try one of each -- obviously picking a base and a main course recipe from the same author is more likely to result in success than a mix-and-match approach. I would strongly recommend starting with the simplest base possible and trying more complex ones only after you have sufficient experience to assess what difference (if any) the additional ingredients/steps are likely to have.
