If you care more about curry than you do about the plight of those in major distress as the result of the Christmastide floods, NJ, then I genuinely feel sorry for you.  Perhaps you see the ability to focus solely on curry, to the exclusion of everything else, as something positive -- something to be admired and encouraged; I am afraid that I don't.  The topic of this thread is "What do you want from Santa", to which I responded by publishing my personal wish list.  In the light of today's salutary experiences, I saw only too clearly that other's needs far outweigh mine, and I reported that here by way of acknowledging that fact.  Our own misfortunes often pale into insignificance when compared to those of others, something that we occasionally forget.

Pull the other one Phil. You're an intelligent bloke, so you can't convince me you really think this has anything whatsoever to do with flooding. You're not so stupid to have completely missed the point of my post, so I believe you're simply trying to swerve the issue.

Floods and Christmas chaos are but one example of your continuous, ongoing and relentless use of this website as your personal blog. No thread is safe. No matter how clear the topic is, you ignore it and invariably immediately divert the discussion to your choice of irrelevant off topic nonsense. People are sick of it Phil! It has zip all to do with yesterday's topic du jour (the floods) so spare us your dishonest reaction which is fooling no one, and address the point itself.

I feel sorry for you, clearly there are issues in your life which cause you to use posting here as some kind of cathartic release but the time has come to ask yourself whether it's better to say nothing than to say whatever comes into your head, even if it's nothing at all to do with the thread topic.

The way you use this site negatively impacts upon many other people who've come here for the clearly stated primary purpose of the site. I'm sick of it. Others clearly are as well and who knows between yourself and the malevolent moderator how many genuine members have been driven away.?

Have you nothing to say about the bigger issue of Garps thread
being taken way off topic Les ?

I agree Graeme, We have digressed somewhat  away from a spice grinder, But this seems to happen in every thread that is started on here, and not only by Phil either. All I see is differences of opinion, Some people just like to talk, (BT say's it's good to talk.) And if you look back on this thread, It was dead until phil put his comment on here. The topic was "What Do You Want From Santa?" Phil wanted his wife back safely for Christmas, Is that really so hard to understand, No. and Still on topic I believe :).

Is there anything you wanted for Christmas Les @ other members,
and did you get it? as Garp requested "Keep it clean and, if possible, curry related"

I myself have a new curry cookbook by the hairy bikers.
Has anyone used the hairy bikers curry cookbook? with out taking Garps
curry related thread further off topic.

A bottle of the secret ingredient would have been nice, but that aint going to happen now, is it  ::)  Chris' e-book would have been good too.  Unfortunatley, Santa can't work miracles at such short notice :'(.  Therefore, I suppose its pointless my asking him for a fully automated thread analyser that deletes all off topic drivel and other material not relevent to a thread  :-\
If people would only excercise some self control and have a little consideration for others, such a request would be totally unnecessary.  There are areas provided in the forum for general discours of non curry related topics, so why not use them? Or more to the point why do some people CHOOSE not to use them?
CURRENTLY, and i emphasise this word, this site is the foremost authority on BIR cooking.  Unless individuals start treating it as such and adding value to it as well as relevent content, it will simply find itself awash with meaningless dross, which some individuals are good at providing.  You really do not have to look far to see it.  Maybe Admin has something to say on this topic  ???
Maybe an appropriate Xmas wish is for Stu to have a good look at what has been achieved since the launch of the new site nearly a year ago and to decide whether it has gained any ground or is it losing it rapidly.  And then decide what the next course of action will be.
One can but live in hope  :)

Done, Address on the way ;D
It could be complete rubbish, but some say it's ok. So young Graeme, never judge a book by it's cover :)
I could say the same thing about the Hairy Bikers, But I wont, because I like them as well ;D

Not wanting to appear attention seeking but on the other hand my wife amongst many others have many times called me an arsehole  :), I had to share my foodie excitement with someone. Xmas evening came and I got home from work to open my presents, so I've sort of hijacked this thread and its now a 'What Did you Get from Santa' thread. (sorry Garp) Anyway apart from my trendy Titanium Spork I got, this year I've been thinking of getting a mincer but daren't mention it in case the missus punched me or crowned me with the tawa she found that I put on top of the kitchen cupboards. Opening  a present from my daughter and there was a mincer with some Sausage skins (she must be telepathetic). Fast forward to last night at work and me and my hunter work mate usually make Game pies at Xmas with what game he has left in his freezer. So employing my new mincer we made a couple of pies and with what was left over made some game sausages which were not bad for a first attempt. So I am now looking for any curried sausage recipes to try, therefore bringing this back onto a curry related thread.

Here's my photos from last night.

PS. The devils horns fell over on the pie on the right  :-\
