Well, found this fabulous site and wish I'd come across it before now. I've been making curries for years but always finding something not quite right about them. Tried this base recipe and made a medium curry for the missus and a cracking hot one for myself last night. And here are the remains of the base sauce from the video shown here and they are now in the freezer for later.

Cheers
Rob

You had some base left over ?  Clearly you didn't cook and eat enough curries :)
Welcome, Rob.

Cheers Phil.
Made plenty of base as I will be making a lot more curry, I love it. The leftovers from the ones I made last night are now also in the freezer, couldn't finish it all.

Not to mention, more locally to me, invented in Dundee:

marmalade - James Keiller
electric lighting - James Bowman Lindsay (before Edison)
the postage stamp - James Chalmers
wedding dresses - aka White Shell Suits

DP yes there was something like Marmalade in Portugal but James Keiller is credited as being the creator of Marmalade as we know it here, and it happened almost by accident due to a surplus of Seville oranges.
