Just learned that a dear friend's funeral will take place that day, at 11:00 and 14:00 in deepest Kent.  Apologies in advance but I will be unable to meet in the afternoon but can join you late afternoon / early evening.

Sorry chaps, but I'll have to decline any mid-week festivity due to travel complications and the fact that I still have to go to work the next morning.  A gathering on a Saturday  would really be the only option for me.  But enjoy the get together if the Thursday eve goes ahead.

That could be the same type of flavour I like in a dhansak. If we meet next week and I order a dhansak, we should be able to see. But it currently looks like only three of us for London (pathetic!). I think it was only moved to Thursday, because that was Stew's preference but, as he hasn't responded, perhaps he can't make it, in which case why don't we move the get-together to a Saturday so that curryhell might be able to join us?

Fine by me.  I have a cremation and funeral service on that day anyway, so would not be wonderful company over dinner.  Let's go for a weekend by all means, but do bear in mind that the good places will be busy then, so we will want to check opening hours and get there shortly after they open for evening service.  Also let's not let it slip too far, or we wil be into the pre-Christmas build-up.

Thursday the 14th is now cancelled then, in favour of a Saturday which hopefully you and a few others can make, in central London. I propose Sat 23rd Nov, meeting at about 5.00pm so we might walk into Phil's recommended BIR quite early at, say, 6pm.

I should be at "Horsmonden has Talent" that night (as assistant sound engineer) and I don't know if I can get out of it; what about Saturday 16th, which is completely clear ?

OK, let's meet on Sat 16th Nov. Michael - can you make that day? Curryhell? Stew? Anyone else?

With a little bit of shuffling, I may just be able to make this providing we're outside waiting for them to unlock the doors and let us in  ;D  Will confirm for sure a little later in the week.

I'm sorry but I can't now make the 16th Nov, after all, so it's now looking like another Saturday, later this month, or early next.

Right obviously Christmas coming up and dates are getting crossed off so it may be hard to get
the people we need to make this happen :)
But I'm not giving up yet so keep throwing in the dates until we get ( would like to have 5ish) a few yeses
Bob keep pressing for the Birmingham trip I'm up for that. Again dates was always going to be a stumbling block
Personally I work in the building trade and have 2 weeks off at Christmas and after boxing day I have plenty spare time up until new years eve but that's me
So come on well keep trying otherwise this thread will be longest thread in the history of threads  :)
Cheers Michael
