garlic chilli chicken tikka massala
« on: March 07, 2013, 01:16 PM »
Had some left-over chicken tikka, so I decided to do one of my favorite dishes for brunch: garlic chilli chicken and a drop of red massala. As I was feeling like experimenting a bit, I added a good tsp of patak's garlic pickle, which did enhance the flavour of spices, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. All in all, a very successful dish.

Hi  Gagomes.
That does look good.  Which garlic chilli recipe did you follow please? (I tend to use h4ppy-chris one)

I didn't follow a specific recipe, sorry!

Here's what I did (from memory):

Start with 1 laddle and half of taz base, with 1 tsp of kashmiri chili powder and 1.5 tsp of ca's mix powder and a pinch of rajah's mild curry powder and turn the heat to medium
Add 2 tbsp of tomato puree and stir until it starts to blend with the base
Add peppers and onion to taste (I added about 1/4 of a yellow pepper and half-onion thinly sliced with a few hand crunched layers) and cook for about 2 minutes
Add the g&g and pataks chili pickle. I added a tiny bit extra garlic paste at the end, about a tsp.
Add another ladle of base and optionally add 1/2 tbsp of lemon or lime juice.
And one garlic clove minced at the end

Tikka was prepared using blades recipe, except that I used patak's tikka instead of tandoori, which is A LOT better (in my opinion, anyway)
