New Indian Takeaway franchise, spice 2 go
« on: February 17, 2013, 04:56 PM »
Hi check out this new Indian franchise http://www.spice2go.com/

What do you think of them will the curries be from a jar! :o

This is what they have to say about BIR's.

"The curry revolution is here! Across the UK, people are tired of cold Indian takeaways, an excessive dose of poppadoms and chutneys, and use of pre-made sauces on a chicken tikka base for most curries"

How ever they seem to believe that BIR chefs over do poppadoms (they mean BIR's give's away to many nice flat poppadoms away for free, they can only use pre-made so they attack them)

do they mean

"pre-made sauces"

as we make our own masala sauce with low fat yogurt what do they mean, trying to make customer believe that we use patak's ready made curry from a jar though we do use a small amount of their paste.

I do know that some British people think we use some special curry from a jar and the company only sell to takeaways because they make more money that way >:(

no doubt some Americans will provide them with investment money  ;D

The only franchise worth consideration from a business point of view is one where you're the franchisor and every other sucker is the franchisee. They take so much in set up fees, and then royalties on every penny earned, that you're lucky to be left with anything.

As a potential customer, it always interests me that the people who will actually be delivering the service, are told they don't need any prior experience whatsoever. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

I made a similar point to a start-up minicab company in Chislehurst many years ago.  Basically they placed an advertisement in their office front which read along the lines of "Got wheels ?  Wanna drive ?  Join us !".  I tried to explain to the owner that potential clients would see this, as well as potential drivers, and that what it should actually read was "Smart courteous careful drivers with own vehicle (must be in immaculate condition) and accident-free driving record wanted.  Excellent rates of pay.  Please apply within".  He listened, but the advertisement remained unchanged.  Ah well.

Sounds like they'll do a nice Chicken Ping.

And on a franchise note, on route to France once we stopped at the Pizza Hut place at Portsmouth next to the Tesco's. I was facing and watching the kitchen and saw one of the chefs and i use that term very very loosely) spraying a pizza with an aerosol. On closer examination it turned out to be spray on garlic butter which is vegetable oil with a garlic butter flavouring. They've been to court over it and won. How gross. And to top it all one member of our party got really bad food poisoning from there which lasted well into 3 days.

In the photo on the site what are those "tuk tuks" parked outside? I thought 3-wheelers died in the UK with the Reliant Robin.
