We discuss lots about how much we enjoy eating a good curry, but how much do you enjoy cooking it?

For me, cooking is the enjoyment and eating is the reward. I know that sounds cliche, but that is how it is for me.

Whilst on a simple dinner a casual beer or glass of wine is very enjoyable, I find otherwise, it is very confuzzling!

Cheers

Malc :)

Cooking is the fun part these days (to me, anyway!) I like the idea of trying to find "that taste" which Julian failed to describe and share in his book. I like the creativity, the steep learning curve, the mistakes, the post-cooking/post-meal analysis of events and planning of what's to do in my next attempt. I guess the whole lifecycle of cooking a curry is what drives me to keep on keeping on!

Phil, I would be happy to extend the offer to ship you a few packages, though I'm in Ireland and I'm sure you would be able to find these locally within better time frames and keeping the overall price down.

Gagomes, RubyDoo, thank you both for your kind offer.  I will endeavour to get some online and if that fails I will get back to you.

Oohhh, that /is/ useful information.  Not my favourite supermarket by a long chalk, but not too far away, can conveniently be fitted in with a trip to Screwfix, and if they have SCFS I shall be there like a shot !  Many thanks, CH : much appreciated.

With an empty house (rare), pint of ale and some music (common) I enjoy the process of getting the spices all out, reading the recipe, planning it, cooking it. Less enjoy trying to ensure I quickly clean anything the turmeric can stain and clearing up all the splashes everywhere!

Have been cooking two curries, five nights a week for the past two years now - I love it. Music is a must.

Dettox "Mould and Mildew".  Nothing better for eliminating turmeric stains from clothes, tableclothes, working surfaces, cutting boards, etc.
