Guitar Players??
« on: January 23, 2013, 11:28 PM »
Seen one or two mention playing guitar.

So what guitars do you have, and what are you playing?

I have an old yamaha FG200 acoustic from the 70s, a Stanford D5 acoustic (very nice sounding) and  Fender Jap Strat.

Trying a bit of solo playing at the moment. I love David Gilmour, so am trying to copy some of his solos - comfortably numb and brick in the wall. Also having a go at Hotel Californa end solo. Taking lots of practice, but I'm getting there!

Anyone else?

I have a Fender Katana in black with Floating Trem (quite rare), a USA Fender Standard Telecaster Tobacco Sunburst with a coil tapped hot rail at the bridge, and a Jackson Stealth EX.  These are played through my rack which is a Marshall JMP-1, Alesis Quadraverb and a Korg DT-1 Tuner linked to a Yamaha midi foot switch. Big noise is provided by my JCM 900 Dual Reverb 100w head and a 1970a 4x12 Angled Cab. 70's, 80',s 90's, Rock is what comes out. ;)

One of few guitarists to play the Sweet Child of Mine riff from a bar chord ;)

Just sold my Gibson Les Paul Standard, but still have my Marshall amps and other sound gear. I'll probably pickup (geddit?) a Fender Tele once I've finished restoring my K100RT bike (which I haven't even started yet!). I've always had Gibsons - Flying-V, SG Standard and Les Paul - but the only Fender I've owned was a blonde Jazz bass, so a Tele will be a bit of a change for me.

I'm getting by with my Epiphone PR5E-SV electro-acoustic and my Epiphone Dove acoustic for now.
