Waste not want not
« on: January 09, 2013, 10:08 PM »
Just polished off some (slightly over cooked) CA inspired beef and mushroom vindaloo leftovers on a butty (thick sliced white, with flora spread).  It was too good to throw away.  Mighty fine supper I must say!  Does anyone else on here do this kind of thing, on occasion? Highly recommended.

All sounded edible until the mention of Flora; 1/8" thick Brittany salted butter is more my sort of binder . . .

Regular occurrence in this house. Often never even gets reheated. Proper butter? What is wrong with a slathering of Ghee, touch of lard or even an accompanying handful of hot gravel?  ;)

Curry and chip butties is a favourite in our house, for the leftovers.

Got to be fresh baked crusty bread though.

Reminds me bit of the TA near me that does stuffed and puffed deep fried naans.  A good selection near the bottom of the menu:

Reckon these could be adapted for left overs.  Might be overly filling though.

Reminds me of my eldest daughter. Doesn't matter what the menu is or if we are home or away , she will stuff whatever is on her plate in to a Naan and eat it that way.. If it don't go in a Naan then it don't go down 'er throat!!!  ( God that sounds bad )
