Hi haldi, well i cook madras, mild chicken curry and saagwala. you may find by just addind a little more cucumber to the next base you will see more of a difference, its how much suits you as you know its a case add to much and your base is trashed, glad the rogan was your best, you will see that the combination in that dish were good, as like your rogan my madras, c chicken curry turned out superb, hope it opens a better gateway for you, i did for me,
cheers
steve.

Hi Steve
I tried the cucumber

Did it make a noticeable difference to the flavour of the base sauce haldi?

By the way, I think you'd need to cook both dishes again and see if you get the same results before drawing any real conclusions (from the addition of cucumber).

Guy's,

I have had Chicken Chaat on a number of occasions from my local TA, sometimes with cucumber in it, and sometimes without and I have to say, the Chaat with the cucumber in did taste much nicer but I didn't like the texture of the cooked cucumber in my mouth!

Hi Steve
I wanted to try Dave Loydens Undercover Curry base, again
So I made that this weekend and tried the rhogan josh again
It wasn't anywhere near as good as as the base made with cucumber
There are just too many recipes to try (I'm dead keen on the new Glasgow recipes)
I will make a base with cucumber again
I'll use a bit more
It definitely did no harm and quite probably made a worthwhile improvement

Hi haldi, trust your well,
Im glad you tried the cucumber it does and has made a big improvment to my base's and final dish's, Nice to hear it's made an improvment your way too, Ive been looking into asian cucumber's you see at most asian supermarket's they are pretty big so im going to try one next week, well i have Dave Loyden's book but havnt got round to even open the first page, but yes thank's for trying the cucumber it may set the direction for a lot of base's, As i said before ive tried all manor of veg but none of them lit my candle so to speak, i just awaiting jesse's reply from australia of my base and recipe to see how that panned out.

cheer's
steve.
