A few snacks for work
« on: December 27, 2012, 05:04 PM »
Having been hastled for a while by my work colleagues for samosas and onion bhajis, I gave in and said i would do some in the run up to Xmas.  Problem being I work in two different areas and have an Indian fan club in both.  Flattering maybe, but has the disadvantage of having to feed two groups of termites instead of one.  Anyway, i finally set to the last full week before Xmas doing two marathon sessions over three evenings

Round one, the first batch of two dozen lamb and veg samosas

Next up is first batch of 18 onion bhajis (cross betweenCBM and C2Go recipes)

And something new for them to try  -an Xmas special Madmatt's curry puffs

Here's the first batch ready to take in

Decided to serve them at the daily ops meeting at 8:30.  All went down very well, and it was one of the quietest meetings i've attended  ;D

I normally get corned beef or chopped pork on Mother's Pride bread!

@ CT

Keeps them all sweet and they are a good test bed for my cooking which kind of makes it mutually beneficial ;D.  Normal mix of plain flour, salt, couple of tbsp of olive oil and WARM water to mix.  I always add a  tsp on lovage seeds to the flour before i mix the dough for the veg ones and leave them out when i do the meat ones.  That way i can  tell what's what  ;D

@h4ppy-chris

No post from me on samosas Chris but Razor did a post.  From the pics and looking at the recipe for the flour and filling, they should taste mighty fine.

I'll do a post at some stage as i've learnt a little trick which makes the samosa case making a lot easier and the end result looking as good as my local asian stores homemade ones  :P
