Home made curry powder

I have noticed that a lot of recipes in the BIR style contains curry powder does anyone make their powder or is it mainly shop bought ? I am thinking of making my own while I have the spices to do it

Too much guesswork on quantities, a good Madras curry powder can have at least 15 different spices in the mix,
some, you would still find hard to get whole in the UK. Which ones are roasted or not? etc...etc...
Couldn't see the point and expense of trying this without a detailed recipe.

But good luck and please post your findings.

If you stick with tried and trusted brands like TRS, East End or Rajah then you'll find their curry powders will do find. Bear in mind that the conventional wisdom from this site is that most BIRs don't make their own curry powders and buy the aforementioned branded spices.
