Viceroy Bengali Style Omelette
« on: November 20, 2012, 06:37 AM »
A Bengali style omelette made with organic free-range eggs, draped with sliced runner beans and served with a wild rocket and chive side salad.

I couldn?t remember if Ali said to use curry powder or mix powder.  I used c2go bassar mix powder.  Mighty tasty omelette anyway!  Also forgot to put some salt in.  Needs a bit of salt.

Look better than the chefs attempt! It's also making my stomach rumble. :)

Looks WAY better than the chef's effort!

I've been knocking out spicy egg dishes since becoming hooked on 'Scrambled Eggs, Parsi Style' way back, after seeing a recipe in one of Pat Chapman's early tomes, but few have looked that good.

You've inspired me to up my game!

I'm absolutely addicted to omelettes with green chilli in. I like to fry half an onion then add 5/6 finely chopped green chillis and a tsp of mix before adding the eggs and black pepper. 10 minutes from being hungry to eating.

I've tried adding cheese and/ or some cold meat and it's still perfect. Egg and green chilli is a match made in heaven.

I finally got around to trying this omelette this morning. I made it to spec using Abdul Mohed's 8-Spice mix powder and three home-grown and frozen chillies (red, green and lemon). Apologies for the quality of the phone photo, but I wanted to eat it while it was hot!

Absolutely delicious! Just the job to wake up those sleepy taste buds! :)
