Rajah Gold Madras curry powder

Many thanks for your feedback under the 'photos' thread which is just what I was looking for. I suspected that Royal Gold Madras curry powder might not be any kind of taste/smell breakthrough, after all. I will continue using Rajah Mild Madras, confident that it is 100% as good as Rajah Gold Madras.
Would everyone else agree, who has used Rajah Gold Madras? It's a bit of a red herring.
Regards
George

I wouldn't want my opinions to put anyone off trying it for themselves, though.
George - I've still got about a tablespoon left, in the original bag which Terry sent me. I can send it to you if you like, so you can compare it for yourself. Perhaps Terry's offer of a free sample for anyone who PMs him still stands. Some people might find it improves their curries, to their tastes.
I certainly don't think it's any kind of 'magic ingredient' though, and while there may be a slight aromatic difference to Rajah Mild Madras, they definitely smell like they're both from the same 'family'. TRS Madras mix, on the other hand, smells markedly different.

Hi George,
I've tired it and to me it's not going to make the difference on it's own. I think maybe the restaurants use it because you can buy it very cheap in massive drums rather than anything else.
I've tried with this and regular madras curry powder and couldn't tell, to me the bigger difference was the use of the all purpose seasoning, thanks to Terry it's improved my currys even further than I thought possible a few months back!
