OK, someone cooks a nice base posted on here followed by the final dish recipe, With all the ingrediants for the base, and all the ingrediants for the final dish, they go together well for a reason! Why cook someones elses base recipe and then add someone elses mix or wonder off into another direction . . .
Well, for many reasons, such as :
1) I have X's base ready-prepared, have just read Y's main-course recipe, and want to try it without the hassle of making the base that Y used.
2) I have been using X's base with X's main-course recipe for some time, but have just read Y's new base recipe; since Y has not yet published a main-course recipe, I have little option (if I want to try Y's base) but to try it with a main-course recipe from someone other than Y.
3) I am just interested to see how the two will work together.
and so on.
