Thanks for the picture, I haven't seen those but I'd expect they'd taste similar to the non-concentrated ones. Here I was thinking that Patak's came up with some sort of Garabi/Base Gravy concentrate ... I'd better not give Patak's any ideas .......

Hi all
Would like to know what your thoughts are
on using "pataks condensed curry sauce"as a base gravy,
have you tried it?
is this cheating?
if so why?
look forward to your thoughts.
thanks.
Never got the Patak's 'thing'...ever. Hat's off to the Patak's family who's made more money from these products than most can dream about, but...
If I wanted my sauce to taste like Johnson's furniture polish blended with Sarson's vinegar I'd save some money and do it the easy way.
Only my opinion, but that's what most jar/processed curry sauces taste of to me ???

B&M sell them for about 50p per can. I tried the Balti one last week. I had to water it down a lot more than it says to do on the can.

It was better than their pastes but it had a different edge to the taste that I didn't like... so I tried to change it.

I did so much to try to alter the taste that I might as just have done my own from scratch without the Pataks and it would have been better too.

That's a bit off Mistersauce, you forgot to mention the slight aftertaste of Cillit Bang Grime & Lime  ;D
