OK guys and gals - whose or which recipe really rocked your boat when you had - made - tasted a CTM and if there is a link to or you can post the recipe - I'm looking for the best!!!!!!! if poss?

i made CA's CTM last night and was very impressed. i didn't make it to spec though. It had a very odd dominant flavour (which i didn't like) coming from ( i think) the rajah tandoori masala. similar to a chat masala maybe?
I've looked at the list of ingredients  and nothing stands out

i know all brands differ, e.g. for me, old el paso fajita mix is revolting compared to discovery. so does anyone have a preference on which brand of tandoori masala powder?

If you don't like the others then maybe try Natco's...

I can't say whether or not it will work for you, but it's an option....

With this forum, there will always be recipe's, suggestions, advice and help. What everyone has to remember here, is like all over the world with different regions and everyone's own taste buds is that not everything will suit you. If you want to create you're favourite dish to you're liking, then you have to put the time and effort in kitchen to create that. I'm not saying that you're not

I've spent approx 5-6 years perfecting what I love, and I now have my favourite dishes that I can create again and again and again with perfect results

If this forum had not have existed and many thanks to everyone over the years for their contributions, I don't think many of us would have achieved the results we have got today.

Just keep trying, adjust one or two ingredients at a time and sooner or later you will get a "sixth sense" of what you need to create you're perfect dishes

we are still awaiting the results of the group test we did on this.  I think it will show CTM has one of the largest regional variations and variance on what individuals think makes a good CTM!

Here's an actual Restaurant CTM, being knocked up in 4 minutes.
The Chef uses two pre made pastes, made in bulk.
1.Almond,Coconut,Cream and Sugar
2.Tandoori Marinade, unfortunately made with yogurt and Pataks pastes for convenience.

Anyhoo, one of the simplest BIR dishes you can make.

CA's is probably my favourite CTM on this site, but with the sugar halved. Mick's (CBM) is also very nice, as is lorrydoo's (even better with 976bar's mods).

I make this one all the time and the sauce is very like the one from the Ashoka. It's fabulous.

Just to clarify (I'm sure you're aware, but others might not be?) that my CTM recipe specifies using this tandoori masala:  https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=1514.0 rather than using a commercial one.

If you haven't tried it, I really suggest you do.  It's top notch (and, I'm sure, knocks the spots off any commercial tandoori masala).

i wanted to make up your suggested masala but didnt have the extra ingredients, so used the rajah instead.
there's  something not quite right about it for me. just like the time i had a tin of patra
now THAT is an acquired taste!
