Massive overkill, IMHO.  Go to your nearest Chinese cash-and-carry (See Woo, Wing Yip or whatever) and get yourself a pack of takeway microwaveable resealable containers and matching lids.  You will save a fortune.  I don't do metric, so can't tell you how many ml I batch my base into (when I batch it, which is not always) but in good old Imperial units it is 3/4 pint or 1 pint at a time.

Or for larger quantities, do as I do, eat Cornish dairy ice cream until it is coming out of your ears, and you will have so many 1L and 2L containers that you won't know what to do with them !

I have gone in completely the opposite direction

However, I don't pay 1.99GBP for them.  I pay 76p from Home Bargins.  My reason for the change is that these store in the freezer, at no more than 2.5cm thick (that's 1 inch to you Phillip  )

I usually portion up between 300 - 350ml (10 - 14 fl oz Phil?).  The bags are really thick and once opened, stand up on their own.  They also have metric (and Imperial) increments on the side of the bag.

Like Phil, I use the take-away plastic containers that I keep everytime we order in. They work a treat.

Apparently, they are washable although I have never tried to wash one out, mainly because of the oil content in the base sauce but I will give it a try next time.

I do still use my takeaway tubs for freezing rice and I do have a big lock and lock tub for my frozen chicken tikka.
