Yes , biting into a Cardamom Pod ain't nice ! The Sauce created in their ' Traditional ' Curries was thin in consistency compared to my usual Curry Base Madras and the whole Spices were a bit easier to spot 

Great post emin-j, I started my cooking of curries with one-off recipes and I find lamb curries cooked in the oven in a casserole hard to beat. I think the difference, especially with red meat, is that the sauce is absorbing the juices from the meat, which you don't get with pre-cooked meat.

I might have one or two recipes kicking about - traditional Pathias are as you probably know, usually seafood recipes but they always say you can substitute with chicken. If I can find them I'll post them on here.

Thanks SL ;D to be honest I've tried a multitude of recipes over the years but not one of them had given me anywhere close to BIR pathia results...I'd all but given up on it until I tried UB's pathia recipe which for me is the mutts nuts lol

Good timing fridgedoc ! Unfortunately the neighbours moved out a few weeks after and didn't leave me the recipe 
BUT  Only in the last week I have had a bit of a breakthrough with a ' Curry from Scratch ' Recipe  ;D
It started from a recipe found on the forum but the Curry seemed to have something missing  my wife also thought the same and She is also a Curryholic !
I then changed the method some to my way of thinking and the result was really excellent  The flavour was that good that this week I made a ' Curry from Scratch ' rather than my usual BIR style Curry .......... Watch this space
