Only recently joined the forum,and after lots of reading,I decided to make my debut using SnS's base and Madras recipies,as it appeared a tad more idiot proof than some of the others ;D
I misread the ingredients list,and therefore started with only one carrot,and considerably less than 20 grams of coriander stalks...I used the stems of an entire bundle of coriander,but even
they barely moved the scales

However,I followed the instructions dutifully,and to my immense surprise,it turned out really well.I reckon for looks,aroma and taste I would give it 8 out of 10 compared to the real thing.
I'm looking forward now to a bit more fact finding on these forums and a few tweaks to produce even better curries.I've been ordered by the missus to produce a Korma by this evening

...she wouldn't eat the madras,but she was impressed by the smell

So thanks to SnS for your recipies,off now to find something a bit milder
