Blending Surprise.
« on: December 31, 2009, 07:49 PM »
Hi All ,

Did a new batch of base sauce using the revised Saffron recipe by sNs , after stick blending I wasn't to happy with the consistency so decided to re - blend using the jug blender on the wife's food processor , it turned out much smoother plus much lighter in colour  :o

Funny enough I was just blending a base myself - and I used my upright blender for a change. I don't know about the taste but the upright blender does a much better job at getting things silky smooth. I'm still cleaning up though!  ;)

I find the upright is a must if you are making a base with whole seeds, like the Ashoka.

The handheld would burn out long before the little bits of seed were no longer visible.

I've always used the blender after having tried the hand whisk once, it gives a much smoother consistency :)

There was 1ltr of Oil in that Base and I recovered 400 ml so 600 ml is in there , not bad considering Oil and Water don't mix  ;)
