curry mess and smell

wife is going mad, the house smelling like a indian takeaway, and complaining about the yellow stains i seem to get on the worktops. takes me as long to clean up as it does to make a curry.

ok fess up who is is getting an earfull about all this?

she has also said she is sick of eating curries, tonight i just made one for myself.

all the trouble i go to , how ungratefull huh. hehe

You would never believe the mess I make on a Saturday ( Curry Night ) , we have a Yellow sink unit that used to be White  :o and the Gas Hob and kitchen units and even the cooker hood doesn't escape ! being splattered with Yellow Turmeric .
The good thing is my Wife and Daughter love their Indian meals so much they do the cleaning up  :D

For me it depends what I'm making.

If its CTM, then I get the kitchen cleaned up after me.  ;D

If its Madras, Bhuna, or Vindaloo... I'm stuck with the cleanup.  :P

That's exactly what I do as well
I was stinking the house out
Everybody's clean clothes had the whiff of curried boiled onions

The only two problems I still have, is to check the bottom of the washing up bowl.
It gets coated with the curry oil
And the house gets cold, this time of year, because I have to keep opening the back door, to get to the garage

Well we have an open plan house and no garage so there is no option but to stink the whole place out but it's always a good idea I find to make sure there are no coats/jackets etc left out to get 'contaminated'.
Plenty of strategically placed pieces of kitchen paper on worktops also helps but the best asset by far is a partner who is as daft about curry as you are.

Luckily neither me nor the wife minds the smell of boiling onions/garlic/ginger.

Good job really although I wonder if my neighbours appreciate the smells!

i used newspaper (parker21 suggestion) on floor & worktop for quite a while - works pretty good - certainly better than nothing.

never once set fire to it thankfully!

Snap , Ditto, Likewise.
I ponged the whole house the other Sunday when doing Onion Baji's . I made about 50 of em at 6am , took till 8 am.
She came downstairs complaining about the smell , said it was making her feel sick. To be honest it was a strong smell and I couldn't eat any of them as it was holding in the back of my throat for 2 days.
Everyone else gobbled them up though and I got several order placed for next time.

I went to the local co-op Sunday evening and I know the woman on the till. She asked me if I had just had a curry ?
Turns out it was my Fleece coat !
I went back up the isles and bought 2 cans of spray fabric freshner.

I'd be over the moon if my hubby actually did some cooking! Or any washing up! Some women don't know when they're well off! :D lol
