for a carpet try using a watered down bleach to spray on the spot where it is and dab to remove the stain. for hobs if they are white again bleach will remove the stains no worries. a good tip would be to get a simple gas cooker and place newspaper underneath it covering any area that may or should i say will splatter and colour that delightful yellow ;D

I have a light beige carpet (bad move) and ive split curry on it more then once among other things coke/beer etc

I use this

"Vanish Oxi Action
Multi Fabric Stain
Remover with Colour Protect"

Its actually meant for laundry, what i do is mix with water to a runny paste it bubbles, fizzes then apply to stained area.. works well only once have i needed to repeat.

The chemical responsible for the yellow colour in turmeric is called curcumin and it is highly pH sensitive.

If you add bicarbonate of soda (sodium bicarbonate) or washing soda (sodium carbonate) to the stain, it will turn a pinky brown colour which may be less vivid than the yellow you have now. If this doesn't work, add vinegar to turn it back to yellow!

try using lemon kitchen spray-----this works on my hob and worktop it will turn the yellow stain red and then it wipes kleen off---not sure about carpet though!!

I tried claiming off my insurance matt - but they told me I needed a policy first 
I thought about buying a new carpet SS - bugger that! 
I gave the coke a miss jeera - for the time being anyway (I have enough stains already!  )
Darn, the stain is already dry graeme - but I think it's a sensible suggestion (ok ok I was drunk and went to bed and it dried  :-[!)
Milton - yes, that's a bleach for nappies isnt it? - kids are all grown up (might try that later though)
I'm reluctant to try bleach (or peroxide) parker - it might end up white!

I tried Vax carpet cleaner - nope
I tried vinegar - nope
I tried baking soda - nope
I tried Vanish (thanks UB) - didn't seem to do much (maybe a little?)
I tried lemon juice - it seemed to help best....well, made it lighter yellow!

So far, it seems that lemon juice and ultra violet light might do the trick - ever hopeful! (I just need a sunbed now!)

so you have a couple of options left...


1) open your curtains very wide for a long period of time.

2) Pop the carpet into a bosh "max" washer and select the 90C wash cycle.
   Please Note: no need to worry about the spin speed selected at this stage.
