Thanks Rob.  Are you going to  give this a go and compare it to your norm?  Spice mix is interesting in that I've not come across any which has such a high ratio of paprika.  I may just have to mix some of this up and try it out.  If I remember rightly, didn't Moike's mix powder also have a high paprika content?

Focusing on the Adil's balti. Full on effort. It's been too hot to do anything though recently. Can't remember much about Moike's mix powder. It certainly contained paprika, but he didn't tell me any of the spice ratios. I don't recall it being paprika heavy. Interesting that Dave's mix is loaded with it.

Found he's somewhat of a legend hereabouts. Does regular shows on Black Country Radio, talking about all sorts of things. Some info on him here.

Just watched your Moike videos again.  Always enjoy watching a master at work.  You sent me some of Moike's mix powder.  The colour of it definitely suggested a large amount of paprika.  Looking at the veg precook video and the mix powder being added, it sure has a heavy tinge of red colour to it, and I certainly don't think it would be chilli powder  :clown2:  I will mix up some of balti Dave's and see how it stacks up next time I cook and let you know.

I sent you some mix powder? :smiling eyes: Some good Bangladeshi BIR kitchen footage in this fairly recent video. See the head chef here mainly, but I think I can hear Moike's voice in the background. Could be; small world.

:uh what:  Not 100% sure about this guy Rob.  In both the videos he's done he has failed to include all the ingredients he shows in the preamble.  I'll give his balti chicken a go as per the recipe, with the missing ingredients  :smiling eyes: and see whether it's any good

Guess Dave is just finding his way with video making/editing. He posted this video inbetween.

The absence of whole spices in his balti recipe surprised me a bit though. Will have to see what follows.

Noticed several of the more established YouTubers do seem to be adopting a simple (and quick) approach to cooking curry these days. Presumably to attract a wider audience, in search of the all important 100K subscribers milestone. The from scratch 30 minute curry "revolution" comes to mind.
