Curry Night at the Uni
« on: January 25, 2014, 09:01 AM »
Back to curry nights at the Uni again this term, every Thursday :)

Last Thursday was Kashmiri Chicken Masala with Banana, Chicken Rogan Josh and Green Chilli Dhal for the Vegetarians.....

I started marinading a Raan of Lamb on Thursday which is for today's Indian Bonanza feast when the kids and grandchildren come over. I'll post that recipe and pictures later on during the weekend :)

Just needs a diving board Bob and I'm in. Looks far better than the stuff I had at the Mosque Kitchen in Edinburgh a couple of months ago and probably tastes a lot better.  :)

That green chilli dhal looks the business!

Is that channa or split pea?

Brilliant. They must be queuing up round the block to get there hands on that!

Any chance of asking you Sri Lankan chef about aubergine curry? (after the black lamb curry of course!)

My local place often has one in its thali or veg curry selection. It's cut very fine, but doesn't have the smokey barbequed taste of some. It's sweet and delish, we eat a lot of aubergines, but I've never made it like this. I've used Sri Lankan website recipes and they're not the same either.
