He just reissues the same naff books with different covers, you only need one and you have most of the content for the rest of them, they are not very good either which you appear to have found out  :-X

Great posts JB, the whole chicken bones thing reminds me slightly of Petes chicken jelly posts!

You can use any oil you like but it won't be authentic BIR 

Just to add, I have tried to make a healthier version of a BIR and it is a waste of time, better to eat the full fat unhealthy goodness less often instead 

I use a lot of salt in both the base and at the curry making stage and find that it is key.   In the base I usually put in a heaped tablespoon and then add more if needed when making a curry.

I know what you mean chief, I spent a quite a while away from the curry scene, still making the odd curry but lately I have gotten back to experimenting and cooking them for enjoyment again.  Keep meaning to post some recent pics I will have to make more of an effort.

This is going back a bit, I still precook cook my lamb and chicken this way, has not yet been beaten!

I have had a quick skim through his site and he sounds a bit uptight, I don't think he would fit in here somehow  ;D

As for the recipes the gravy seems familiar although I don't recall 10 chicken stock cubes being called for before, seems a little extreme!

Unfortunately bickering and arguments are a part of most forums, you might not believe it but even I have been invloved in it in the past
