Trainee Chefs / Beginners Questions / Prawn Curry

Hi folks

I'm planning to make a curry this weekend. She who must be obeyed has declared that a prawn curry would be good. I'm looking for something middle of the road, i.e. not to hot but not to mild.

I have a goodly supply of CA's curry base so I'm hoping that this will be suitable for a prawn curry, if not perhaps someone could point me in the right direction. Also a recipe for my middle of the road prawn curry would be helpful, I've found a couple of recipes on this board but I'm unsure which one to go for, one of the perils of being new to curry cookery I suppose.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.

Welcome guildy, I'm new here myself but if your first attempt turns out as well as mine then you are about to be delighted.

Enjoy

I know this post is a month or so old but I popped into my local Lidl to see if there were any left, sadly not. Does anyone know, do Lidl's tend to repeat these offers or are they normally a one off?

Not being a scrooge but that price seems to good to miss out on.

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

Thanks to you all for your kind words and encouragement, I still can't believe how well the first at temp turned out. I've got loads of base left so curry number 2 is imminent, it's going to be something Lamb, (our favourite meat) so any suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks again

I can't believe I'm saying this, I made my first attempt at cooking a (real) curry last night and still can't believe that I actually cooked what we were eating. I used CA's Chicken Madras recipe (and his base). To say that me and Mrs BW were over the moon is an understatement.

I apparently now have the official title of "Household Curry Chef", maybe a few brownie points from she who must be obeyed are on the way.......

A big thanks to all on this site, special thanks to CA for the easy to follow recipes and the astounding result.

Onwards and upwards.

Thanks again
