Jerry,

The smell is definitely more of a woody smoky aroma, I suppose if you add into the mix, frying onion and spices it has sweetened it up. Its certainly not an offensive smell but it is very noticeable.

Domi, don't loose sleep over it, I won't if I can't find them. Very odd looking things indeed.

Lets Talk Curry / Are you addicted to curry?

Before I joined this forum I would have said my curry eating quota to be fairly minimal. Perhaps enjoying a variation of curry once or twice a fortnight. However, since joining I seem to have become almost obsessed with with Indian cuisine.

This week being the most obsessed with one every day since Monday. My wife took the kids shopping today and returned with some lovely tuna steaks that normally have with a very Italianesque Mediterranean vegetables. But as I sit here typing, all I can think of is how I can turn them into a curry of some description.

Am I alone or do others share my obsessive desire to eat curry?

I have voted twice a week in the poll as this is really all I can get away with normally with the wife. 8)

CA,

It looks as though he has taken heed to your questions. A good thing indeed as we get a better insight into how he is cooking. The one thing I do like about the way he works, he's always wiping down and cleaning as he goes.

I'd go along with you Ray on the cooking of the spices, they certainly wern't in the pan long enough to burn.

I look forward to your results Chris. I am hoping to give this a proper go but will use my Keema recipe.

This has answered the technique part of the Keema Naan for me, good show that man. :)

Thanks Ray, that is certainly an odd looking veg. I'll see if I can get some.

I have come across a Kerala vegetarian dish that refers to 'drumstick' as one of five vegetables in the dish. Unfortunately I have no idea what this is, can anyone steer me onto the right path please?

Thanks in advance.
