Topic: Mix powder containing curry powder

...I am curious why the mix powder that is mentioned has to contain curry powder.

Curry Powder was invented for the British during the Age of Empire.

Imigrants from the subcontinent who opened restaurants in Britain in the middle(ish) of the 20th Century probably added curry powder to restaurant cooking as a way of giving the Brits what they presumed they wanted.

It was possibly too expensive to just use curry powder alone, so it became just one element in the mix.
