           I never buy a curry without that amount of oil
That's why I think we might be aiming for different results
It's this oil that carries the predominant aroma and flavour
If your bought curries don't have it, then they must be very different altogether

Yes Pete much less Oil & my local Take-away Curries have a more Golden Oil (this i assume from it not being cooked several times, which collaborates my experiments with double cooking the Oil etc...).
This is another reason why i rate then ,great taste & reasonably healthy  ;D.
Having done some more testing it is more of the smell of the Curry i`m trying to capture, the flavor is all but correct (SEE 99.9% post).
This is why (& i`ve mentioned this many times before) it is difficult to achieve the correct results as there is variation in flavor,smell,texture & ingredients from BIR to BIR ).This i have witnessed in many Take-away`s within a 50 mile radius even down here in Cornwall. ;)
