Thanks Jerry
I totally missed that thread on my search,
Cheers
Les

PS
Just had a read through the thread and I'm surprised to see the banana creeping in there, like i mentioned in my earlier post the curry i had in Bristol (in the 80s sometime) had chunks of banana in it, but these where big chunks about 3/4" I'd guess, and i thought the chef was having a laugh, but obviously not, so might give this one a go
Thanks Again

Hi hotstuff09, all

Had a good rummage through the recipe books and the recollection of recipes using the Kashmiri chilli and recipes entitled 'Rogan Josh Kahmir' are coming from a book I was lucky enough to receive as a Christmas gift.

It is this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Great-Curries-India-Camellia-Panjabi/dp/1856265463

While there are fantastic recipes in the book, plus lots of great information covering many aspects of traditional Indian cookery, I suspect this is not what you were after at all.

Sorry not to be able to help further in your BIR Kashmiri dish quest.

Regards

hotstuff09,

must admit i was same - i'd always had banana fritter with biryani but never in main dish.

the small canary type banana are best and need to be almost ripe. for me a to die for ingredient (even have it in my porridge).

Cheers Jerry
Looks like a banana is a must in this type of curry, guess I'll give it a go and see.
"IN PORRIDGE" :o  Jerry, that is sacrilege my friend,
As a Scot it's salt only for me ;D
