Hi Mandy,

I would always try your local Indian corner shop first. They will sell the proper Indian spices you will need rather than a supermarket who will sell commercial brands, like Schwartz and their own brands etc.

You should be looking for spices etc from people like, TRS, Rajah, Natco, Pataks, Maggi, even Nestle produce a wonderful coconut powder which is used in a lot of curry recipes on this site. These will give you a far better flavour and end result than supermarket spices :)

Hope this helps.

Hi

What part of the UK do you live in, there may be other members who have already tracked down local stores.

Regards

Mandy,

If you look online it doesn't matter where you live, they will deliver to outer Mongolia if you give them the right address!!  ;D

Hi Mandy i am from Tipton so not far from you, try Bilston towards the bottom of the town for a little supermarket called Nisa (they do every type of Indian spice),plus dont forget to use the market stall at the top of West Bromwich town (the owner is always sitting on his chair at the front of the stall) for ALL of your ingredients for your curries, coriander, garlic, ginger, chillies and also sells the string bags of onions very reasonable prices as well.
Anything else you want help with please feel free to ask.
