Hello....from Stockport

Hello
Firstly I would like to say that this forum is wonderful! In the last week I read some great things on here - strange theories, new ideas, brilliant humour etc. All in the search of great curry!!!
I have tried CA's base and Madras recipe already and was very happy with the result to say the least - thanks CA!
My favourite curry is the vindaloo and generally I prefer madras and vindaloo which are not too tomatoey. I think a lot of places make curries too tomatoey these days. My favourite curry house round here is one thats been here for 30-odd years with the same chef I think. The curries there are considered old fashioned but it has very loyal customers who prefer the old fashioned taste. Sadly this style of curry is becoming quite rare I think. I am only 30 myself but have been brought up on that "pre 90s" style as some people on the forum have described it.
Anyway thanks for the forum - can't wait to try more things!!
