Holiday Curry

Reading through some of the posts in the review section I wonder if anyone has had an oustanding, good or halfway decent curry when on holiday?
I have worked in a number of European and mid eastern countries and have holidayed in a lot of countries and can honestly say that I don't believe I have had as good a curry as you get here in a BIR.
The worst I have had were in Paris and Moscow, both tasted a lot of undercooked coriander and cumin with that gravelly sandy texture you get when you eat picnics on the beach.

I recently went to Fuerteventura and managed to find a curry house, I was pleasantly surprised with how good it actually was. It wasn't as good as my favorite BIR but easily on a par with others I have had in my local area. I can't remember what it was called now but I think it was probably the only one on the island.

Should you ever find yourself in Roquetas de Mar, Almeria, SPain DO NOT touch either of the Indian restaurants in town with a bargepole. Hansa's is a rip off portions wise and the vegetable curry with my Biryani was like runny gravy - I'm used to real vegetables in a nice sauce - and was miniscule. Some people say it's OK and I can't speak for the carnivores but I was deeply disappointed. OH ate at the other restaurant (don't know name) and said he reckoned they cooked with seawater as it was all far too salty, even for an Indian restaurant.
Funny though, lots of excellent Chinese and Wok restaurants!!
