Tight chest
« on: January 18, 2007, 02:25 PM »
Is it just me but lately when I have been cooking a few curries, I feel like my chest is tightening up, could be through inhaling all the spices. Has anyone else ever felt like this after cooking with spices for long periods.

I have had shortness of breath a few times from going a bit OTT with the chili but not from just inhaling the spices frying and i've spent a whole days curry cooking.

Everytime i cook up a batch of base sauce....we get what we call "THE ONION SHOWER"

The onion smell/odour seems to get into the hot water tank and comes out when you have a shower the next day making the bathroom stink of onions.....very weird.

Its the price you pay, god knows what the neighbours must smell coming from the kitchen

Stew ;D

Vindaloo,

I'd just check with a doctor if I were you. You can't be too careful with these things.

maybe you have invented a form of nerve gas :o  My guess though it will be the gas released by the chillies.

Hi,

At times i have to stop frying and go outside.

I remember some one posted and informed us
its the gas been given off by the chillies
that get us, its a form of posion gas.

Graeme.

Think CP posted that the gas produced from frying chillies and onions = a form of mustard gas.

In short it will burn the soft tissues if you inhale it.
