OK, so I've installed Kodi/XBMC; I've installed Total Installer; I'm currently listening to the Total Installer talk-through (British English rather than trans-Atlantic -- oh joy, oh bliss !  Shame about the glottal stops, which drive me mad, but no-one's perfect).  So, two questions :

1) How do I know when a single or a double-click is required in Kodi/XBMC ?
2) What /is/ "a build" ?

I'm no expert, but here goes.
Every thing in kodi is one click.
A build is a customised kodi setup that someone has composed.
You can then install the bulld.
This saves a lot of time and effort, as well as the massive learning curve.
To install totalxbmc builds you need to register on the forum.
This gives you a username and password.
Hope this helps.
Any questions just ask.
I've just managed to get it all working, so its fresh in my mind.
I'm online all day lol.
Dave.

Thank you Dave.  I am currently (?trying to?) install ChrisB1810, so can't test, but it seemed to me that when trying to install Total Installer there was one point where only a double-click would cause anything to happen; I will try again later and report back.

No problem Phil.
Are you installing on a PC or android ?
The reason I ask, I've only experience of installing on a android mini PC.

Real PC (Windows 7 Enterprise); nothing smaller than full-size tower PCs in this house, I'm pleased to say :)

No, I've given up.  I am afraid I find the user interface completely unintuitive.  At least when it was first installed there was an [X] button to close windows; now, following the installation of Total Installer, even that one button has disappeared, and once I am in (for example) "Settings", there is no visible way out again.  I am sure that programs that offer no visible options are fine for some, but for me, any program that does not offer the traditional "File / Edit / View / Tools /  Windows / etc" options is unusable.  Modern flat-screen display are so large that there are /acres/ of room for navigation aids; why anyone would write a program that takes over the whole screen yet offers no visible navigation aids at all is completely beyond me.  It's a generational thing, I am sure.

Phil I think the right mouse button is the return to last page on PC.
