You are right, Mick, but he also stated he is using the H4ppy technique, which affects the way things cook, as I'm sure you know :)

So for a small amount, take 3-4 cloves of garlic,1tbs of veg oil and a couple of pinches of
salt and crush this together in a mortar, until you have a creamy emulsion paste.

Smear this on top of your Naan and sprinkle a pinch of fresh coriander and rub it in.
Cook your Naan, then brush on your melted Lurpak or Ghee.

Lovely :P
cheers Chewy

Yep 2nd that, Ive had no issues at all with cooking the naans this way using h4ppys method

I have cooked h4ppys naans having rolled finely chopped green finger chillies and garlic into the naan dough without any problems of the naans coming out flat, they come out just as good as without IMO,  and no issues of the naans not rising with garlic crushed into the oil first as per chewys method

I have made h4ppys naans with great success, it is a very good recipie there's only one problem they go like cardboard after a couple of hours, any tips on storage reheat would be greatly appreciated, thanks rob :)
