Yeah, otherwise that's one mean mother.

My mate works for the gas board - shall I tell him to expect a major loss of pressure if that is connected to the mains?

Hi yes its ?16.56 with delivery roughly ?22.00 on offer at moment, it has 5.3kw output, run it off my bbq propane bottle, the regulator ive sent for off ebay was ?8 with 2 mtr hose,  u can get an empty bottle off ebay cheap then take it to nearest garage, go outdoors and pay for a refil, 3.9kg will cost you ?15, should last a while that, ive had a play with flame adjustment, very controlable at low flame output,    gas equipment direct

Thanks for the info Terry.  I will either go down this road or go to the expense of a nice SMEG hob plus the cost of some one fitting the damn thing.  Something to ponder for the New Year.

terrydraper,

i'm real big fan of burners. just say if you need any pointers.

i found it very different and took 3 months to conquer.

always been interested in what size in kw is the cut off for what's needed - will much appreciate your thought's once you feel comfortable. i know 3kw is not enough and mine at 8.8kw is probably too much.

there's a few existing posts to search out if you need.
